36 Weeks and Marshmallow Feet

Yay! Another week under our belt! Not too much longer to go! A lot my time this past week was spent inside with air conditioning and eating ice cream/smoothies! David makes delicious fruit smoothies for us every night! A trend that I think needs to continue even after the babies arrive because they are just too yummy! My 43rd Family Reunion was this weekend in Minnesota but we chose not to attend because we were fearful they babies would decide to arrive and we'd be hours from home. None the less our weekend was great! Friday night I played Bunko and met a few new moms! Yay! David did some 4 wheeling (I make him text me every 30 minutes so that I know nothing has happened and he always tells me where he's going). Saturday we hung out around the house and then met friends out for a movie and dinner. Sunday we headed out to Oak Park for our friends' going away party. Wow, was it hot! My feet were like swollen marshmallows or puffy pillows or whatever other name you want to give them! After my few hours outside I was thankful to get home, take a shower to cool down and relax in the air-and thank goodness we're not in the south! I can only imagine how puffy I'd be! My doctor is going to be out of town for the end of the week. Please pray for the babies to stay where they are until he comes home! I know there are other doctors here but I want ours to be the one to deliver! It just wouldn't be the same without him!

It's hard to find anything that still fits! The bottom of my belly is almost always out!

Funny Note: At Target on Saturday I went into the bathroom and a 4 year old girl directed me to an empty stall. She then said "That's a nice baby you have in there." I told her "Thank you." And she said "You're welcome." How cute are kids!?!

Professional Belly Pictures

Below is a sampling of the pictures we had taken to celebrate our pregnancy. The indoor shots were taken at exactly 32 weeks. The outdoor shots were taken at 32 weeks and 6 days. We had so much fun taking the pictures and are very happy with how they turned out!

Measurement Update

Last night at about 6pm my doctor called to tell me that we would be doing measurements again at today's appointments. He said he wanted to check the weights again seeing that there was such a difference between them last week. The funniest part of the entire conversation was that when he called I picked up and said "Hello" to which he responded "Yeah, it's me." Good thing his office is the only private number that calls me and his voice is one of a kind!

So today I went in for my regular Tuesday appointments-NST and Ultrasound (BPP and Measurements). After my ultrasound I was told to wait in the room while they called my doctor. Believe it or not he had the nerve to be at the hospital delivering a baby:) So they let me go and said that they would have Dr. Fischbach call me this afternoon. He did call and said that we would continue with our biweekly appointments and that we would be taking measurements every week to keep a closer eye on them. He said that he was happy to see that both babies had gained weight and that he contributes some of his weight to his large head (still not enjoying this Scott head!). He weighs 6lbs11oz (averaging 37 weeks and 6 days) and she weighs 4lbs12oz (averaging 34 weeks). That's a big difference between the two but since they both made gains he said we would continue on! Keep praying for strong, health babies!

35 Weeks

Another week down! I must admit I'm really getting ready to meet these two little bundles but I know the longer they spend in my awesome incubator the better. So I'll tough it out for them:) As mentioned last week we attended some State Fair concerts over the weekend and this past weekend we made it to the final 2! It was a bit warmer this weekend but we powered through! Our To Do List is totally done! Now you never have to worry about me mentioning it again!

Baby Update

Yesterday I had 3 appointments and all went well. We started with our NST appointment and both kids did great! I then met with our doctor and he said everything is looking awesome! He doesn't think that I will be delivering early-which is good. I've now gained around 40 pounds total and my belly is measuring 39 cm. For my last appointment of the day I had an ultrasound/BPP. Both kiddos passed all areas and scored 8/8! We were also given measurements, which we haven't gotten since week 20! Baby Girl is 4 lbs 5 ozs and averaging 32 weeks and 5 days. This average is found my combining all of her measurements (femur, head, abdomen...) and weight. Baby Boy is 5 lbs 14 ozs and averaging 36 weeks and 5 days. And boy does he have a Scott head! All the Scott's are so excited about this but I am not! His head is measuring at 39 weeks! Each baby has his/her own placenta and cord flow is looking good, so next week I will talk with Dr. Fischbach and see if he wants measurements again to make sure that both kiddos are gaining. As for now they both fall in the acceptable ranges so we're good to go! Ultrasound pictures are getting harder and harder to get as they get bigger. Yesterday we were able to get the two posted below! Last night we went on a tour of the hospital and it went well!

34 Weeks Plus a Nursery Sneak Peak!

I am so happy to say that we are uneventfully here at 34 weeks! Everyday I wake up and I am so thankful that everything is still going so well! The more time the kids and I spend together the better!

This past weekend we went to the State Fair to hear a couple of concerts-Friday night was Brooks and Dunn, Sunday was Eric Church. We had a great time! However, you would think that I was one of the attractions by the way people stared at my belly! David and I decided that we should open up a booth and charge $1 for people to stare at me! I'm pretty sure we'd be able to pay for the kids college by doing this. We have 2 more concerts this coming weekend-Darius Rucker and Sugarland.

We've also finished up just about everything on our list! We've gotten the necessary supplies, the nursery is ready and the Pac N Play is set-up in our room! The dogs were a little confused last night when they found their beds in the office and the Pac N Play in place of their beds! Eventually, the dogs will get used to the new location of their beds!

Week 33

This past week has been a busy one! David and I have been trying to get as much done as possible before the twins arrive. Hopefully we have another month or so but you just never know! Our list of things to do is down to about half of it's original size! But I keep slipping crazy things in there! For example, I had a little mother nesting attack and moved all of the cleaning supplies so that the kids couldn't get into them! Now unless my babies are miracles and come out crawling/walking we have a long way until we reach that point but I couldn't help myself. David, being the great husband he is, then installed cabinet and drawer latches in the kitchen. I feel much better now! In fact, I feel pretty great but sleep is getting tougher and tougher. And I must admit I still take my daily afternoon nap!

We've also been attending classes to get all of the pointers we can. A few weeks ago I attended The Happiest Baby on the Block class and this past week we checked out the video so that David was in on the loop too! I also attended a breast feeding class on base. This past Saturday we attended a Prepared Birth Class offered by the local hospital. It seemed like a really great idea but we were pretty stressed/grossed out when we left after hearing about all the things that could happen, seeing all of the instruments and watching a vaginal and cesarean birth on tv! I told David I think they need to come up with a 3rd option because I don't think I like either of those! Speaking of...

Our sweet babies will be here no later than August 31 (39 weeks and 2 days!) My doctor has said that I will most likely be having a c-section because of the babies positioning. Baby boy is vertex/head down and baby girl is breech/feet down. So unless she turns we don't have the option of a vaginal birth due to all of the complications that could occur. The chances of her turning are getting less and less everyday as they both grow and room in my belly is harder and harder to find. We have no plans to take the babies early, we want them to spend as much time "in the oven" as they need! However, once I begin labor I am to head straight to the hospital so the c-section can begin.

We can't forgot our 4 legged kids!
I made these little pants for our girl from a pants pattern that I was testing for a friend (she created the pattern). It's an old t-shirt and a little bit of sewing! Pretty cute I must say! And so easy! I think I may make more!
