170 days later and he's home!!!It all started last night when David's group commander came over and helped me move his bike into the middle of the garage so I could put a big bow on it! See David keeps saying he wants a new bike, while this one is practically new since he hasn't ridden it in 6 months-I'm so funny.
The kids and I went to school like regular today and I had the hardest time staying calm and normal because I knew he'd be home tonight! The kids however had no idea! After school we came home and David called to talk to us. He asked the kids where they thought he was. Their answers of course included Afghanistan. Nebraska and many other places that I can't remember where named. Then he told them no, I'm in Dallas and I'm coming home! They were shocked and excited and like any military kid they asked for how long will you be home? They could hardly believe that his deployment was over especially since they thought they had until July/August!
We cleaned up the house, changed into our red, white and blue and headed to the airport! It was a grueling wait! We were so happy to him when he got off that plane! A few members of his squadron were also there. After pick up it was back to like like normal and to the ball fields we went!
