The Family Knows!

We wanted a fun and special way to tell our families we were expecting so we made t-shirts. We sent the t-shirts and the first ultrasound pictures in a package with directions for opening. Each family was required to call us before opening the package so that we could be on the phone with them when they found out. We had a great time telling our story and hearing the joy in all the new and first-time grandparents, uncles, and aunts!

We're Having TWINS!!!

This morning at 8am we went to have our ultrasound done. I was so nervous, I think David was too but he didn't show it! I was so scared that something was going to be wrong. Once in the room the tech started. David was sitting at the foot of the bed and could see the monitor, I on the other hand could not! The whole time he was making faces and then he started showing me two fingers. I knew what he was trying to tell me but I didn't want to believe him because how does he know what he's looking at!?! Well, then the tech finished and turned the screen so that I could see what they were looking at. She showed me both babies and we got to see their heartbeats! I had a few tears running down my face. She said everything looks great and I told her how relieved I was to hear that! Can you believe that? TWINS! I did ask the tech if she was sure that was all and she said she looked closely and only found the two.

We left the appointment beaming! Throughout out the day we ran errands, which included getting shirts made for our families to announce our news and copies of the pictures for the soon to be grandparents, great grandparents, aunts and uncles!

Boring AF Class

This morning I took a half day to attend a registration class on base-all pregnant women must complete it. Anyways, I survived the 2 1/2 boring hours and came out with a lot of information and the "What to Expect When You're Expecting" book!

Morning Sickness

I must say that I feel pretty lucky in the department Morning Sickness. I've been able to get up and go to work everyday, all the while feeling nauseous but never throwing up! I've started taking things a little slower and I eat all day long-this seems to really help with how I feel! My students are always asking "Mrs. Scott, what are you eating?" I'm just hoping no one at school has caught on. Luckily I've always had to go to the bathroom frequently so now that I go every hour no one questions it! I'm also wearing Sea-Bands.

Yesterday, however was a different story. I could hardly get out of bed. When I finally took I shower I went straight back to bed in my robe. I pretty much laid in bed all day with David catering to my every need! He's been so incredible through all this-keeping the house clean, getting me snacks, making sure I'm drinking enough, not taking my roller coaster of emotions personally...I couldn't ask for a better partner to go through this with!

Blood Test is in!

Yesterday I went to base before work and had a pregnancy blood test done. The nurse called with the positive news this morning! After speaking with her I called Candy (Dr. Fischbach's nurse, who we love!) and she was beside herself with excitement. She got me set-up for an ultrasound on January 25 (8 weeks) to determine how many we'll be having! I then spoke with the specialist we saw from Minneapolis and he got me started on Progesterone twice daily. I can't say I'm excited for these suppositories but I'll happily take them if it means a healthy pregnancy!
