A Busy Weekend & Father's Day!

I am sitting here at our computer after hearing the final evacuation sirens for Minot. I don't know quite what to do with myself. It's so eerie hearing the sirens telling people they need to get out now and seeing so many of them drive by our house on their way to safer ground. Our basement was flooded during the first round of evacuations and it totally bummed us out. Our outlook has changed now and we are thankful for a wet basement and not having to evacuate.

This past weekend David and I took our first trip without the kiddos! We went to Winnipeg to celebrate (a few weeks early) 5 years of marriage! Grandma and Grandpa stayed with the kids and a good time was had by all! And I only emailed home once and only called once when we were back in the US. I'm pretty proud of myself! Here are a few of our favorite pictures!

Callie's 1st time standing on her own. She stood for so long she started crying because she didn't know what to do with herself! Now she's a pro!

Anderson after pulling himself up onto the box, he's almost ready to begin pulling himself up on furniture.

Diaper box rides, just like Uncle Josh and I loved as kids!

Happy (Grand)Father's Day!

With Grandma

Watching the world go by-one of his new favorite things to do thanks to Grandpa and Grandma!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!!

Callie helping to open Dada's gift!

A picture by the scroll saw the kids are going to get Dad once the garage is free of our basement things!

Callie's prints for her Daddy!

Anderson's hand and foot prints for Dad!

Both kiddos are getting their top front teeth! Callie has one that is just about through and Anderson has one that is through and one that is just about! And to top it all off Anderson has his first ear infection and not just an ear infection, a double ear infection! He's being a real trooper for all that his body is going through!

10 Months

This Past Week...
Once a week we go up to base to eat lunch with Dad! In the bottom picture Callie stuffed an entire wagon wheel in her mouth and was making funny noises-oh the joys:)

I was finally able to snap a few pictures of Callie standing after pulling herself up. She is also crawling a few feet at a time on all fours-no pictures or video of that yet!

Anderson playing in the dog bowl water that he tipped over-this has happened numerous times.

Flip flop season!

1st Camping Trip

This past weekend we took Anderson and Callie on their first camping trip! It was a total success! Friday night we arrived at Lake Metigoshe and set-up camp. After having dinner Callie followed directions and went to sleep. Anderson on the other hand decided to be a party animal! He sat up with us at the fire until we went to bed around 11! Saturday we walked down to the lake, played outside, walked around the campground and sat by the fire. Saturday night both kiddos went to bed. Anderson fell asleep in a second-guess he was worn out from the night before! Sunday we snuggled in bed and then headed home.

It's Been Awhile...

As you can see Anderson is on the move! He is a champ at army crawling! It doesn't matter who or what is in the way! The other day I carried Callie into the kitchen to feed her and I yelled to Anderson "Crawl in here so you can eat lunch!" Then I turned around and there he was! I'm glad he's taking directions so well! Another of my favorite crawling stories happened today while I was in the kitchen making dinner. Anderson crawled into the dog bowl and tipped it over, pouring water all over himself and the floor. And given our flood situation it made me panic until I realized what had happened, then the two of us laughed and laughed:) Callie is not crawling as much as Anderson but she is a champ at pulling herself up on stuff! So the cribs have been lowered and nothing is left on coffee tables.

Anderson is now giving himself his sippy cup during their afternoon feeding. Since this picture was taken we started drinking our sippy cups in our high chairs! Callie is even drinking from hers! Yay!

The joys of self feeding have begun too! Callie is really quick with getting food into her mouth while Anderson tends to play a little more. Has anyone seen his puff?

Below are some of the beginning pictures from our basement flood:

The first wet vac we had going, pumping water directly down the drain.

Our guest room, once we were further into our fight we had 2 wet vacs going in this room.

When we gave up our fight (We started Monday at noon and "quit" Thursday at dinner. All the while having 5 wet vacs going and staying up around the clock to empty them.) this is what the dry wall looked like. It just crumbled as we chiseled off the bottom 2 inches to try and save the rest of it. Thank goodness we have great friends who helped us move everything into the garage.

Thursday our big kid car seats are getting installed! Anderson and Callie are growing up so fast! And each day is more and more fun!
