More Firsts

A few more firsts have happened since I last posted.

1. We saw the doctor for our 2 week appointment (August 27) and everything went well. Callie weighs 4lbs11oz and Anderson weighs 7lbs8oz-that puts them both past their birth weights! The doctor also gave us permission to let them sleep for up to 6 hours at night without waking them up to feed them. I am happy for the sleep but I can't believe how quickly that happened-I assumed I'd be waking up every 2-3 hours for a month or so!

2. Anderson lost his umbilical cord on Sunday (August 29) and he too has a cute belly button!

3. Anderson and Callie have both sat in and enjoyed their swing!

4. We gave them their first real baths yesterday (August 30). Both did well, a little crying/screaming but that's to be expected the first few times! Not to embarrass Callie but she pooped twice while in the tub:) I know she'll love us for telling that story when she's older!

Our First Walk

Tonight we went on our first family walk. We put Anderson and Callie in one stroller together and headed off around the block with David pushing. We all did really well despite the super slow speed we had to go for me-yes, it took about 15 minutes to make it around just our block!

In other noteworthy news:
*Anderson had his first nail clipping this past Sunday (August 22). No injuries were incurred:)
*Callie lost her umbilical cord in the the middle of the night last night! Yay! And what a cute little belly button she has:)
A little blurry but I see a SMILE:)

1 Week Pictures

This past Saturday (August 21) Anderson and Callie turned a week old! I must admit I shed a few tears Saturday morning thinking about how fast all of this has already gone! Here are a few pictures of our sweet babies.

This picture was taken at exactly 12:52, Anderson's birth time!

Birth Through Day 6=LOTS of Pictures!

Saturday morning at 9:00 David and I headed to the hospital to get checked in for my c-section. We checked in without any problems and then it was sit around and wait! Oh, the waiting was terrible! We were ready! Anyways, the surgery went really well and there were no problems! David was unable to be in the room with me but he was able to watch everything from behind a door-I can't say I would want to see it all! Anderson David was born first at 12:52 weighing 7lbs and measuring 20 inches. As soon as I heard his cry tears ran down my checks! Callie Grace was born at 12:54 weighing 4lbs8oz and measuring 17.5 inches. I also heard her cry immediately and it was very different from Anderson's. As they we putting me back together David took the twins and headed to the nursery for the weighings, measurements, baths...Once I was back from recovery we spent sometime together as a family before asking the grandparents to come up. I was not assigned a roommate so David was able to stay with me all 3 nights! It was wonderful to spend sometime in the hospital and to get started with our routine. Everyone there took such good care of us-I didn't want to leave! Ever since then we've been in parental bliss.

Final Picture Before the Twins

I was able to see the babies as soon as they were born since there were no health problems. This is Anderson David. We knew a number of the nurses so they were really good about getting pictures and giving us special treatment!

Proud Dad! He carried both babies from the C-Section Room to the Nursery.

Healthy Cries! Callie Grace is on the bottom, Anderson David is on the top.

When they took me to recovery they stopped by the nursery and they brought the twins out to me! This is the very 1st picture of the 4 of us!
