Week 12

This afternoon David and I headed to the clinic so that he could hear the heartbeats. I called our nurse yesterday to see if she could squeeze us in since David had missed last week's appointment and didn't get to hear the heartbeats. She told us to swing by around 4, so we did. After trying with 2 different dopplers she was unable to find the heartbeats, all she could hear was me (and my insides). I now know to show up with a full bladder next time too! She didn't seem too concerned but suggested we get the old ultrasound machine they have in the office just to put us at ease. Wow, did we see those babies! It's no wonder she couldn't find their heartbeats-they were bouncing and twirling and spinning. I guess they're in the true Olympic spirit! We got to look at them for a good five minutes and see their little heartbeats flickering! So David didn't get to hear them but we did get to see them again! It's just all so amazing! She printed us two pictures. They aren't as clear as the others, seeing as it's an older machine, but they're there! At this point they are about 2 inches! Yay God!

Trying It Without the Sea Bands

I am feeling so much better now! The morning sickness is still here but it is hardly noticeable! I haven't been wearing my Sea Bands the last few days and I've survived! But wow, talk about an appetite! I am always hungry! At least my cravings have changed from Arby's roast beefs and Burger King cheese burgers to salads and fruits! It's a relief to be getting back into my old eating habits-now I just have to work on the meat/poultry!

Making Room for Babies: Part 1

David and I spent this last weekend cleaning out the basement-the boiler room, the laundry room, the hunting closet, the living room closet... We had tons of empty boxes and lots of unneeded items. We brought a lot of stuff to a donation drop off and piled the rest for the garbage man. We also bought some shelving units for the boiler room and organized everything! It's amazing the space we have now! Our next mission is to organize upstairs!

I'm Not Returning to Work

Today I told my principal that I will not be coming back next year. He was a little bummed out and practically cried. (He told me so!) He also said that it is so wonderful that we are able to have me stay home with the kids and what an amazing opportunity it was for us and our family! I couldn't agree more! So next year will be a child-rearing leave, then if I want to return the following year I will have a position somewhere in the district, if not I'm done!

Doctor's Appointment

Today was my first appointment with our doctor since conceiving. It went really well and he said everything looks/sounds good! He answered all of my questions. (I think he was showing off for his intern!) The best part of the appointment was hearing the babies heartbeats! I got to hear both of them! One baby had a heartbeat of 172 and the other baby had a heartbeat of 164. It was a bummer David wasn't there but you know how life in the Air Force is! My appointment was followed by 7 tubes of blood taken in the lab-I think that's my record for the most at one time! Now it's another month until our next appointment.

10+ Weeks

My belly has begun to show! It's not huge but it's there! I've started to wear my maternity clothes-they're a little big but feel so much better than having my pants undone with buttons and zippers poking into me!

David has decided to make a change too! Here he is in his new "dad" haircut:) Notice the part;)

The News is Out at Work!

To announce our pregancy at work we brought in cake and Double Bubble!

David and the guys enjoyed their cake with their morning coffee.

At Lewis and Clark, we put the cake and all the goodies out the night before. The tradition at school is to not tell who put the cake out and everyone has to guess who it is that is expecting! The rumor was out before I even walked in the door! It was a fun morning!
