17 Weeks

Today marks 17 weeks. We stopped in at the clinic this afternoon so that we could put my mind at ease and hear the heartbeats. We heard 2 beautiful heartbeats: 153 and 162! The pictures had to be taken late tonight because I had a banquet to attend and David had curling-so there are some shadows. In the picture with Belle and Beau we had to convince them to pay attention to the belly by putting peanut butter on my fingers:)

Cribs-Check, Changing Table-Check

Today David and I went out and bought 2 cribs and a changing table! We've been looking for awhile and decided today was the day. We picked them up at Target, seeing as our choices are limited here in Minot, but I really like them. Once they are put together (still a ways off because we have to get carpet in the other room before setting up the nursery) I'll post some pictures!

Funny Things My Students Have Said

Ever since telling my students I was expecting twins they have said some pretty funny things. I thought it was time I shared some...

After telling my students I was pregnant...
*"Mrs. Scott, you better dress warm and keep those babies warm." -A Twin in my Class on the Way to Recess
*"I have ___ babies in my tummy." Said by students while wearing their backpacks on their bellies at the end of the day.
*"I felt the babies kick!" -A Boy when I was about 12 Weeks Pregnant

After telling my students I was going to the doctor...
*"Are they going to cut you open to look at the babies!?!" -A Boy in my Class

During Spring Break...
*"Mom, I'm so excited to go back to school! It's been 4 whole Days, Mrs. Scott's belly is going to be so huge!" Turns out he was disappointed that my belly wasn't bigger.-Told to me by Mom

16 Weeks

We're a day late getting our 16 week pictures posted but we did take them yesterday-16 weeks. By the time we got home from work, took the pictures, and ate dinner it was time to head out to curling, which we didn't get home from until 10:15. But David did win! My back tenderness has increased and sleeping is already getting tougher! I did start a prenatal yoga dvd (Thanks Dani) on Sunday and it felt great to do. I'm hoping to alternate that with walking.

David-The Shopaholic!

Yesterday David came home with 4 more outfits for the kiddos! It seems every time he goes to the BX for lunch he has to walk by the baby section. Now I can't complain too much considering it only cost $19. The first set is a doggie set (he loves those) with cute matching bibs. The second set is dinosaurs! I'm nervous for the shopping that is going to take place once we know the sexes!

15 Weeks

Today marks the beginning of 15 weeks! We had an appointment today and everything is looking great! Dr. Fischbach said to stay on "cruise control" and keep doing what I'm doing! Today I measured 17 cm and found out that I have gained about 14 pounds since conception (I think a few pounds are due to my never ending eating while in the Bahamas!) None the less no worries! David was at this appointment so he was able to hear the heartbeats for the first time! One baby had a heartbeat of 154 and the other 164. While we were listening to the heartbeats the second baby's started to go faster! It was amazing to hear the switch! I also asked our doctor how we know which baby is Baby A and which is Baby B? He told me that the baby that is lower is always Baby A so if the babies move around they could "switch" letters. So if Baby A decides to move up and Baby B is lower, than Baby A becomes Baby B and Baby B becomes Baby A. Make sense!?! David was also told by Dr. Fischbach that he can be in the room no matter what!!! So whether it's a vaginal birth, c-section birth or emergency c-section David will be in there! Yippee! After the appointment David and I headed out on a walk. We only went a little over a mile seeing as this is my first workout since Christmas!

We're a "Twins" Family

As soon as we found out we were having twins David and I decided that we were going to be "Twins" fans! So seeing as we're having twins...How cute are the onesies!?!

Thanks Grandma and Grandpa Boettger for outfitting the entire family!

A Weekend in the Cities

I spent this last weekend in the Cities and had a wonderful time! Thursday I was able to meet little Miles and visit with Susannah and then join up with Melissa for dinner.

Friday morning Mom, Dad, and I headed over to Jackie's (2nd cousin) to meet her twins-Joe and Lucy who are 6 months old! And they are so cute! Jackie gave me lots of good advice and lots of stuff! I came home with an entire tub of maternity clothes! After our time at Jackie's we headed to lunch. While at lunch Dad looked out the window and asked if that was the stroller I wanted. It was and we were all so excited with our noses pressed to the window that the waitress came over because she thought something exciting was going on outside the window. After lunch we headed next door to the baby store. I saw the stroller we wanted (City Mini Double) but I believe I have changed my mind after seeing another stroller (City Select). And I learned that the City Mini doesn't hold two infant seats and the City Select does! Both strollers are rather expensive. I also found a "sling/carrier" that I like-the Baby K-Tan. Two hours later we left the store. From there we headed to a few other stops including Babies-R-Us where we looked at more strollers! So many decisions to make!

Saturday Mom and I headed to the Mall of America to round out my maternity wardrobe! I found tons of cute stuff! With the things I purchased and the tub from Jackie I am ready to grow and look cute doing it!

Sunday morning Aunt Merri came over for breakfast. And I took pictures with everyone! Then began the long drive home!

Fists

David and I have gotten a little behind on our reading, so yesterday morning before we headed off to work we caught up. We were behind by 2-3 weeks! As we were reading week 14 it compared the babies to the size of a fist! Now that's something I can picture! So I clenched my fists and held them up to my belly and said "I have two of these in there! No wonder I have a belly!" I was (and still am) completely amazed at how big they have gotten! I spent yesterday and today walking around clenching and unclenching my fists. All I can think is wow! I can't believe these two little miracles are growing in me!

14 Weeks

Here we are at the start of 14 weeks! And we need to remember to start taking our pictures during day light hours so that the shadows aren't so bad! My morning sickness is gone and I have a lot more energy. The only other big change this week is my belly hair! It's getting so much darker than before! Can't say I love it but I do love the two little ones growing inside!

13 Weeks!

Here we are at 13 weeks! Wow, does the time fly! I've started feeling a lot better in the morning sickness department! I don't have to get up early just to get something to eat and then go back to bed. Saturday night I slept for 10 hours without so much as stirring-I didn't even get up to go to the bathroom!

My back has started to feel the "growing pains" as have my sides. But I'm feeling a lot better after my acupuncture/chiropractor appointment today. While I was there I asked for names of masseuses she would recommend. She gave me two names and both are certified in pre-natal massage! Now I just need to book myself one!

The other big change is my bladder! The longest I can go during the day now is 45 minutes! Talk about tough when you're teaching! Good thing I have understanding aides who don't mind watching the class while I bop out! I think this is due to my increase in my water intake. Before I started feeling dehydrated in the early afternoon but since upping my water I'm feeling a lot better!

And as expected David continues to be amazing! He's already read his dad book and quotes it to me! I told him he needs to read all my books and quote them to me so that I don't have to read them;)
