A Field Trip to the "Pumpkin Patch"

Thursday we went on a field trip to the "pumpkin patch."  I use qoutes because it wasn't a patch and the pumpkins were not growing on vines.  In fact, the pumpkins weren't even grown here!  And they were just set on pallets.  None the less, the kids had a fine time listening to a story, doing some finger plays and looking at the pumpkins before having a picnic snack.

Dad's Birthday

For David's birthday the kids decorated signs for his door with the names they call him, scooped and put sprinkles on ice cream and frosted the cupcakes!  They did a great job with all of it and they were so excited to show Dad all of it!  Happy 33rd Birthday Dear!  You know I'm going to spend the next 2 months reminding you that we are the same age and I am not older:)

Grandpa and Grandma Visit

Grandma and Grandpa came to visit this weekend. We spent Thursday night at home playing outside and grilling.  Friday we headed to Dixie Maze, where we had a ton of fun.  We played in the corn bin, went on a cow train ride, took the hayride out to the pumpkin patch where we picked pumpkins off the vine, ate treats, saw reptiles and saw just how brave Callie is.  She rode her first pony-no fear and did the barn swing!  She planned on jumping from the top for the barn swing but decided to just have the boys push her from the ground once she was buckled at the top.  And of course, I couldn't be out done by my daughter so I did the barn swing too!  Saturday we went to Chimp Haven for their Fall Festival. We were lucky enough to see a brawl between some chimps-it was awesome!  Sunday we spent the day around home playing and doing projects.  We're so happy you came to visit and we can wait until the next time!

Finally a company with Callie's name!
My new favorite picture of the kiddos!
This is the point when she decided she wanted them to push her from the ground instead of jumping of the platform.

A Night Camping

We haven't done too much camping since moving to Louisiana and trading our camper in for a boat but we decided it was time to get back out!  Friday night we went camping for the night at Black Cypress Bayou.  The best part-it's 10 minutes from home!  It's been years since we've had our tent out but it held up well.  We had a great time roasting hot-dogs, playing in the dirt (which there was plenty of), playing with glowsticks, flashlights and lanterns, going on walks, collecting rocks, jumping, finding the letters our names start with and just being outside.  The 5 of us in one tent was a little tough and in the middle of the night Liam and I had to head to the car because he thought it was time to play and wrestle. Maybe it's time to get a camper again;)

Liam's 1st Library Storytime

Liam went to his first library story-time on Thursday while the big kids were at school. We sang songs, listened to stories, used scarves, played bells, caught bubbles and did a duck craft. He only did half the project and truth be told he was more interested in walking around than following along but so were most of the other toddlers.  It was really awesome to have time with just Liam and I'm already looking forward to next week!

Miss Melissa's Visit

My best friend Melissa came in for a visit this weekend. She called Tuesday to ask if we were open and arrived on Saturday-awesome!!!  We hung out and had a great time!  Having friends visit is always so special and this visit happened to be over her birthday-even better!  We can't wait until your next visit!  The kids are already asking when you're coming back!
