Shrove Tuesday

We finally made it to Shrove Tuesday at church this year! We had a pancake dinner followed by activites for the kids which included a foot washing, a communion meal, walking through the garden, nailing our thoughts/prayers/sins to the cross, crafts and King Cake. I really love our church and the amazing opportunities they provide us! This Friday the kids and I are headed there for a moms night in. The kids get dinner and childcare with their friends while I get dinner and a movie with my friends! Davids outta town so don't worry about him;) You're the best FUMC!

More Mardi Gras

This weekend was full of more Mardi Gras! We weren't going to head down to Saturday's parade but after our friends texted and invited us to their roped off area where we could drive right up and food, toys and a port-a-potty who was I to say no! And with the weather sunny and 70 it was the perfect day to be outside! The parade was great and we caught a tons of throws! Sunday after church we headed down to our favorite parade, The Highland Parade. It's a day parade and geared towards the kids. We had so much fun! We caught beads and more beads, candy, Ramen noodles, swords, spears, wands, crowns, stuffed animals, hot dogs and more! After an hour and a half the parade was still going but the kids were done. They asked to leave so we loaded up and headed out, they were sleeping within minutes! Thanks for another amazing Mardi Gras season Louisiana! We sure will miss it next year!

Krewe of Centaur

Last night we (Grandpa, the kids and I) went to Float Load for Krewe of Centuar. It was our first time going and it was awesome! A couple from church is on a Krewe and they invited us to come. We were able to get on their float and pass out beads! It was as close as I could get for Anderson who was wanting to be in a parade.  We were also asked if we wanted to get on another float, of course we did! We saw many more floats and ate dinner there. We had a few meltdowns but overall the kids did well! Since we had seen all the floats up close and personal we had to go to the parade today. I thought I was taking us to the family section (no drinking/smoking) but I didn't-oops. Our spot turned out to be ok and the groups of people we were next to were kind enough to let us use their port-a-potties.  The kids did great! We arrived to the parade 1 1/2 hours early and then it took another 1 1/2 hours  for the parade to reach us! Lucky for us Grandpa walked to McDonalds and got us burgers and fries! We came home with beads, a stuffed animal or two and light up wands. Laissez les bons temps rouler!

And it fell from the sky!!!

Open Gym

Ice Skating

Sunday before the Super Bowl we took the kids to open skate at the local ice rink. The Boettgers and my friend Melissa joined us. Liam only lasted a minute or two before having a fit. Anderson lasted quite a bit longer and came back out after having a snack. Callie barely stepped of the ice for a snack and when everyone else tuckered out she continued skating, even trying by herself a few times and making up her own routines complete with turns.
