Christmas Tree Hunting

Saturday we went to find a real tree.  The first tree farm that we stopped at was a no go.  We walked all around and could only find half dead or too short trees.  So we headed to another.  When we arrived we were over whelmed with how many people were there!  But they ran a really awesome system so it never felt too crowded.  We found a beautiful tree, met Santa and had snacks!  Santa's Tree Farm was a totally win and we'll probably be back next year!

Thanksgiving

David had to work at 2 on Thanksgiving so we decided to have a parade watching brunch!  It was awesome!  A good time with friends and so not stressful!  The only turkey severed was the turkey bacon on the cinnamon roll turkeys!  When David headed into work we headed to a friends to hang out and then Grandma and Grandpa came for dinner!  After that Mom and Grandma headed out for Black Friday shopping-our favorite!

Breaking the Rules

Wednesday night while the dads were working we headed out with the Dishmons to break the rules...we went to dinner at HyVee and a tree lighting BEFORE Thanksgiving!  We had a great time! The kids were crazy excited and by the end a wee bit cold!  We had seats right under the tree in front of the stage!  Perfect!

Halloween

Make It Monday Halloween Edition

Vala's

So we heard about Vala's, I mean everyone here talks about it (like they do the zoo) so when we heard there were tickets available for a discounted rate on base we decided to go for it.  I stopped don base and bought the tickets a month ago but due to our schedules we were never able to make it out there until the day before Halloween.  We got there around 1pm (earlier than we were planning but David woke up early, he was working night shift so we headed out when he was ready) and we did not have nearly enough time!  I mean this is like the Disney World of Halloween!  We saw as much as we could and boy did we have to keep the kids moving!  I pretty sure I said "Let's go," "Hurry Up," and "We can't do it again, remember we're going to try everything once!" like a million times.  We still had fun but we will allow an entire day next year so we can slow down and enjoy it a little better!  I mean there are haunted houses, storybook barns, tractor trailer rides, hay rides, games to play, a petting zoos, wooden cut out photo ops (I'm so over these!), trains rides, bike races, jumpy pillows, food, treats, giant slides, air cannons, corn bins and more!

Pumpkin Carve!
