Children's Museum Trick or Treat

Date Day

Yesterday David and I were planning on having an entire date day but our plans were foiled after visiting the Gerald R. Ford birth site when we pulled up to the Old Market downtown and found a screw in our tire.  After getting the car in to the shop and getting a ride home we headed back downtown and had lunch at Nicola's (yummy!) and a cupcake at Cupcakes (not the most delicious).  I was bummed we didn't get the whole day but some is better than none, right?!

Star of the Week

George's Birthday

This last weekend we went to MN for George's birthday.  This is the first time we've lived close enough to any family to make a birthday party!  We were so excited!  Friday night we slept over at George and Ellee's and Saturday night we slept at Grandma and Grandpa's.  Saturday was the party and Sunday we picked out pumpkins before heading back to NE minus Liam, who stayed in MN with Grandma and Grandpa for the week!

Birthday Breakfast

Friday morning we celebrated David's birthday because we were going to be gone for the weekend.  Yay for presents and donuts for breakfast!  Happy Birthday David!!!

 

Liam's Field Trip

Friday Liam had a field trip to Gifford Farms.  We had a bit of a rough go at the beginning (picture a fit over not wanting to wear a coat or sweatshirt in 40 degree weather) but we got over it and Liam had a good time.  He didn't want to hang out with us but he was side by side with Mrs. Mikkelson and a few friends-whatever it takes!  

Trick or Treating with the Animals

Saturday we went to Gifford Farms to trick or treat with the animals and for lunch.  It was small but not too crowded so it was nice.

Conferences

We had the kids first conferences last week and they went great!  I have to say I did get a little teary eyed when the teachers were telling me how great our kids are!  It was weird being on the parent side of conferences since I've only been on the teacher side.  Both kids had outstanding report cards and I'm so thankful they have the teachers they have!  They totally fit their personalities!

Grandma and Grandpa's Visit

Mom and Dad came down for a weekend visit and we were busy!  Friday Grandma and I left Dad and Grandpa in charge of school pick up and we headed out to Junkstock, a antique/craft show.  Friday night was our usual pizza and a movie only David was at work.  Saturday we headed out to the drive thru zoo after swim lessons and then we went for a late lunch before David headed into work and Anderson and I headed to his Lion cook out.  Sunday we went to church and then had lunch with cousin Nick who was driving across the country.  It's so great living in the middle of the country and seeing family!
