Baby Update

Yesterday I had 3 appointments and all went well. We started with our NST appointment and both kids did great! I then met with our doctor and he said everything is looking awesome! He doesn't think that I will be delivering early-which is good. I've now gained around 40 pounds total and my belly is measuring 39 cm. For my last appointment of the day I had an ultrasound/BPP. Both kiddos passed all areas and scored 8/8! We were also given measurements, which we haven't gotten since week 20! Baby Girl is 4 lbs 5 ozs and averaging 32 weeks and 5 days. This average is found my combining all of her measurements (femur, head, abdomen...) and weight. Baby Boy is 5 lbs 14 ozs and averaging 36 weeks and 5 days. And boy does he have a Scott head! All the Scott's are so excited about this but I am not! His head is measuring at 39 weeks! Each baby has his/her own placenta and cord flow is looking good, so next week I will talk with Dr. Fischbach and see if he wants measurements again to make sure that both kiddos are gaining. As for now they both fall in the acceptable ranges so we're good to go! Ultrasound pictures are getting harder and harder to get as they get bigger. Yesterday we were able to get the two posted below! Last night we went on a tour of the hospital and it went well!

34 Weeks Plus a Nursery Sneak Peak!

I am so happy to say that we are uneventfully here at 34 weeks! Everyday I wake up and I am so thankful that everything is still going so well! The more time the kids and I spend together the better!

This past weekend we went to the State Fair to hear a couple of concerts-Friday night was Brooks and Dunn, Sunday was Eric Church. We had a great time! However, you would think that I was one of the attractions by the way people stared at my belly! David and I decided that we should open up a booth and charge $1 for people to stare at me! I'm pretty sure we'd be able to pay for the kids college by doing this. We have 2 more concerts this coming weekend-Darius Rucker and Sugarland.

We've also finished up just about everything on our list! We've gotten the necessary supplies, the nursery is ready and the Pac N Play is set-up in our room! The dogs were a little confused last night when they found their beds in the office and the Pac N Play in place of their beds! Eventually, the dogs will get used to the new location of their beds!

Week 33

This past week has been a busy one! David and I have been trying to get as much done as possible before the twins arrive. Hopefully we have another month or so but you just never know! Our list of things to do is down to about half of it's original size! But I keep slipping crazy things in there! For example, I had a little mother nesting attack and moved all of the cleaning supplies so that the kids couldn't get into them! Now unless my babies are miracles and come out crawling/walking we have a long way until we reach that point but I couldn't help myself. David, being the great husband he is, then installed cabinet and drawer latches in the kitchen. I feel much better now! In fact, I feel pretty great but sleep is getting tougher and tougher. And I must admit I still take my daily afternoon nap!

We've also been attending classes to get all of the pointers we can. A few weeks ago I attended The Happiest Baby on the Block class and this past week we checked out the video so that David was in on the loop too! I also attended a breast feeding class on base. This past Saturday we attended a Prepared Birth Class offered by the local hospital. It seemed like a really great idea but we were pretty stressed/grossed out when we left after hearing about all the things that could happen, seeing all of the instruments and watching a vaginal and cesarean birth on tv! I told David I think they need to come up with a 3rd option because I don't think I like either of those! Speaking of...

Our sweet babies will be here no later than August 31 (39 weeks and 2 days!) My doctor has said that I will most likely be having a c-section because of the babies positioning. Baby boy is vertex/head down and baby girl is breech/feet down. So unless she turns we don't have the option of a vaginal birth due to all of the complications that could occur. The chances of her turning are getting less and less everyday as they both grow and room in my belly is harder and harder to find. We have no plans to take the babies early, we want them to spend as much time "in the oven" as they need! However, once I begin labor I am to head straight to the hospital so the c-section can begin.

We can't forgot our 4 legged kids!
I made these little pants for our girl from a pants pattern that I was testing for a friend (she created the pattern). It's an old t-shirt and a little bit of sewing! Pretty cute I must say! And so easy! I think I may make more!

32 Weeks and Saturday Road Trip

Today we went and had belly pictures taken with a photographer. It was so much fun and I can't wait to see the results. The pictures we took today were all inside and on Sunday were are going to go take outdoor pictures in the beautiful fields of North Dakota! The belly pictures you see below were taken once we got home from our photo shoot and dinner. I'm still feeling well and the babies seem to be doing well also. According to one of the books I'm reading they are between 3-4 pounds each and about 19 inches long-I think they might be longer considering they have such tall parents.

This past Saturday we took a little road trip to some of the places near by that we haven't had the chance to visit. We left Minot and headed to Rubgy, Dunseith, The Peace Gardens and Bottineau. It was a lot of fun but I was worn out by the end of the day, as was David! When we got home at 5 we both had to take a little nap!

David's First NST and BPP!

First, David was able to sit with me during my NST. Then we headed down to ultrasound where David was finally able to see his first Bio Physical Profile! Both babies passed and it was nice and short! It took less than 30 minutes, which is a totally blessing because as many friends have said they get more and more uncomfortable We got a few great pictures today-including both of their faces! We also saw him open and close his mouth and move his eyes! I think he was showing off for his Dad!

His foot is on the top left and to the right you can see his hand-fingers and all!

His face, from left to right you see chin, mouth, nose, eyes and forehead.

We were able to see him open his mouth and move his tongue!

Her face is looking at us-eyes, mouth and chin.

31 Weeks

We spent this past weekend at Itasca State Park in Minnesota with the Boettgers to celebrate the 4th of July. Myself, my Mom, my Brother, and my Sister-in-Law all drove over together. David and my Dad met us there. I was so happy to see David after almost 6 weeks without him! He claims that I got huge while he was gone! We had a great time hanging out with everyone. Friday we spent our time around the campground and campfire. Saturday we spent the day on a pontoon! Which was a total blessing for me considering it was 90 degrees and sunny! I got in the lake quite a few times with a floating noodle to cool off! Sunday we went to town to do some eating and shopping. Then we headed to the Mississippi Headwaters inside the park and topped the day off with some games and a yummy, yummy grilled meal. My brother really enjoyed looking at my puffy, swollen feet all weekend-at least he enjoyed teasing me about them! Now we're back at home at getting settled! David has enjoyed looking at all the home improvements that have happened while he was gone and all the hard work that my mom did while she was here visiting. Now to get the rest of it finished!?!
