Boxing Day

Today we had Boxing Day Tea. I didn't grow up having it but David did so the tradition continues! This year I added a little bit of Norwegian flair-rice pudding and lefse to the traditional cookies, scones, jam tarts and tea. And as the pictures clearly show Anderson still loves his boiled custard!  Thank goodness Granny got us bowls for Christmas so we could make it ourselves!

Christmas

Christmas started by decorating gingerbread houses on Christmas Eve morning after a yummy Rudolph pancake breakfast.  I love the photos of Liam looking and then leaning in for a bite!  After nap we headed to church, had dinner and opened 1 present-slippers, snacks, "coffee" mugs and k-cups-all the fixings for a movie night!  Christmas morning the kids were ecstatic!  Anderson got some super heroes toys and cars/diggers, Callie got lots of princess stuff and Liam got his own shopping cart and cars, cars and cars!  They got a Gator to share and Santa and his elves built a dress-up closet which happens to fit perfectly in the play area!  The entire day was spent playing and snacking until Mom made everyone take a nap!  Then it was back to playing!  Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday Jesus!

Christmas at School

Thursday the kids had their Christmas Party at school.  They exchanged gifts, had snacks and decorated cookies!  Liam is so lucky everyone lets him join in!  However, this was his last time because after the holiday break he will be starting MDO!  Friday they had their school program and I'm pretty sure they were the most amazing kids in the entire show!  Great job Anderson and Callie, I love watching you both!  After the performance Santa made a surprise visit!  The kids finally had enough courage to sit with him and tell him what they wanted for Christmas-Superman and Rapunzel!  Liam was still unsure of the big man so David had to hop in the picture!

This Week's Christmas Fun

This week's Christmas fun started out with Miss Rebecca and Mr Matt coming over for dinner and a present exchange. Boy did they spoil us rotten! The kids got amazing gifts and she had them make us little handprint snowmen ornaments the last time she babysat and she made us a FSU wreath for the door-the girl has talent!  Thursday and Friday we had school activities (see other post).  Friday nigh we went to Christmas in Roseland where the kids had a blast dancing to the music in front of a Christmas tree that flashed to the music!  By the 3rd time we heard the Nutcracker Callie was able to pick it out on her own!  Saturday it rained so we went to our first movie and then David took the kids shopping one at a time so they could pick out gifts for each other.

Frozen

Today we saw our first movie in the theater-Frozen! The kids did great and really enjoyed eating popcorn, gummy bears and sour strips for lunch! And the little booster seats they had available meant the kids could sit in their own seats without us having to hold the seat down! Good times folks, good times!

More Christmas and a Birthday

We had another fun filled weekend! Friday night David and I went out to dinner and to a movie to celebrate my birthday! The best part was that we were able to bring wine into the movie, even if it was in solo cups, it was still awesome!  Saturday morning Callie and I got our hair cut, then we picked up Anderson and headed to the library for a Polar Express Party.  It was awesome!  We listened to the book, made ornaments, had snacks and wrote letters to Santa!  After a brief stop at home to get Dad and Liam we headed back up to Benton for Benton Christmas on the Square.  We were meeting Lylah there but ran into Kylie and Kylie too so it was a regular little party!  We stayed for the parade and that was about it because it was cold!  Sunday after church we went out to lunch for my birthday and that night we went to Sonic for ice cream and drove through a live nativity!  I love, love, love all these fun Christmas things!
Callie was convinced this little boy was the boy from the movie:)
Dear Santa, Please eat your cookies.  I've been good. Eat candy canes.  I want a Super Man and I want my own star. Sincerely, A
Dear Santa, I want a Rapunzel Princess Crown, dress and hair.  I do want that for Christmas.  I want my own umbrella too. Sincerely, Callie
