Today our sweet, cars loving, trike riding, ball throwing boy turned 2! As is the trend at birthdays for me I wondered how can this be!?! My baby is 2! Then I take one look at you, Liam and think of how blessed I am to be your mother. Sure you challenge me (your red hair comes complete with a red headed temper and maybe, possibly a bit of your parents' tempers!) but boy do you know how to love! The moment you were born you stole my heart and have been bringing me so much joy ever since. I love watching you play cars. I love that when you wake up from nap you snuggle for just a few seconds and then says "Mommy play with me." I love that you want to be just like your brother and sister. I love that you want to help around the house-feed the dogs, set the table, carry things to the car..., I love that you run straight to the sandbox when we go out back. I love that your little face lights up when you see someone you love. I love the way you say ok. I love the way your little body shakes when you're excited. I love that you point out things as we're driving. I love that you snuggle before bedtime prayers. I love everything about you Liam. Period. Dot. I do love everything about you.
We started the morning bright and early. Callie and Anderson were super excited for Liam's Cars themed birthday and in our room shortly after 6 this morning! We made them hang tight for a bit before going into Liam's room to sing him happy birthday. We then opened a few presents before having pancakes, eggs and oranges for breakfast. After breakfast we watched "Cars 2" Arts and crafts was next and we colored little wooden cars. Followed by the required birthday photo shoot and then it was off to Chuck E. Cheese for birthday lunch and cupcakes with Dad! A stop by PetSmart and then it was home to nap. After nap Liam opened another present-his bubble machine! Which of course was taken directly outside to try! Let me tell you it is awesome! Totally blows bubbles! While out there we made funny chalk drawings to take out pictures with. As soon as Dad was home it was inside to see the grand finale of presents-a dad built race track and a mom built car garage! David did a super impressive job building the ramp and Liam LOVES it! The car garage he's not too sure of! Liam then did a little FaceTiming with his family before having hot dogs and potatoes with more cupcakes for dessert! I think the kid was sang to a total of 5 times, had 2 rounds of cupcakes and had numerous text and FaceBook messages, what a loved little boy! Happy 2nd Birthday Li-man!
