David was forced to take leave all of last week and part of this coming week so we looked down our bucket list of things to do in CA and decided we'd do Yosemite. One of the main roads through the park closes in the winter months and we wanted to be able to do that drive. However, finding a place to stay was another story. The park fills up months in advance and since we only decided to go a few weeks ago our choices were limited. But we found a place that suited our needs just fine on the edge of the park during the middle of the week. Our balcony over looked a river and the forest, which was beautiful. Just don't ask us how much it cost! All three days were spent exploring the park. We did a number of small but good hikes-Lower Yosemite Fall, Bridalveil, Happy Isles Nature Center and Swinging Bridge. We saw a few deer, lots of squirrels and a waterfall or two. We also drove to Glacier Point which over looks much of the park. The kids had the best time climbing the rocks! I mean seriously addicted! They also worked hard on their Jr. Ranger Badges and received those our last day there. We didn't get to see the entire park but when it came time to go the kids were ready. Now we have a reason to go back!
You people sure know how to have fun!! I love the toes in the water picture!!
