Fall Weekend

This past weekend was traditional fall for us! Friday night we went to Livermore HS football with Allyson.  It ended up being homecoming which was neat but the stands were still fairly empty and they got crushed! But we had fun and ate lots of snacks! Saturday we headed up to an area known as Apple Hill. It's about 30 minutes outside of Sacramento or 2 hours from here.  It's a very hilly area full of apple orchards (something like 30 of them), vineyards, Christmas tree farms and such. It's comparable to Napa but it's apples. Our first stop was pick your own apples followed by pick you own pumpkins. We were off to such a good start and just by chance finding these right places! From there we came across a very commercialized orchard. I mean it was like an all day attraction!  We did the hayride, ate apple donuts, had Apple cider shakes and beer and slushies while looking over the fishing pond. After a couple hours there we decided to look for a little more tranquil, relaxed orchard.  We found one that was less congested  but didn't have to much apple stuff to offer. However, they had an amazing hand constructed Old West Town that the kids played in for almost an hour. From there we headed to our final stop which offered a hay bale maze, nature hike, caramel apples and ice cream. It was a fun, full day! PS Many of the pictures the kids requested I take! They know how much their momma loves pictures!
